Clinical Psychologist
Stacey A. Waller, Ph.D. is a Clinical Psychologist who joined Clayman and Associates, PLLC in May 2008. She is experienced in clinical assessment and intervention aimed at helping people deal with problems in living. Dr. Waller has recently completed the necessary requirements and is now recognized as a qualified forensic psychologist as well. She is committed to providing the highest quality service to the people of West Virginia and is excited about the opportunity to return to this area.
An area of special clinical interest for Dr. Waller is the evaluation and treatment of problems related to anxiety, such as panic attacks, phobias, posttraumatic stress, worry, obsessions and compulsions. She believes in providing effective, time-limited treatments that are well supported by scientific research and clinical experience to alleviate anxiety-related issues. Dr. Waller has spoken on the topic of anxiety disorders and treatments at professional meetings in Asia, Australia and throughout North America. She has co-authored several papers that have been published in professional journals, and she is an invited contributor to the revised Practice Guidelines for the Treatment of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, developed by the International Society of Traumatic Stress Studies.
Dr. Waller earned her B.A. in Psychology from West Virginia University and her M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Western Michigan University. As part of her clinical training, she completed her pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship at West Virginia University School of Medicine in Morgantown. At the conclusion of her fellowship in 2004, Dr. Waller was invited to join the clinical staff of the Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry at WVU, where she was appointed to the adjunct faculty. She entered private practice in the spring of 2008 when she joined Clayman and Associates, PLLC.
