Geriatric
Evaluations
As the attending physician, your advice is often sought by family members with regard to an older adult's suspected cognitive decline. Conflicts with confidentiality are sure to be confronted. At Clayman & Associates, we can assist you, the patient and family members with clear solutions to these complex problems.
Possibly the question is continued independent living or concern regarding medical power of attorney. In most instances, family members have the patient's best interests at heart -- but what if they don't?
All-Inclusive Geriatric Evaluations (AGE) provides a testing and interview assessment that meets all guidelines established by the American Psychological Association, with regard to evaluations of older adults. AGE includes the level of functioning capacities demonstrated by the individual (baseline), the functional expression of the disease process (if identified) and the rate of decline determined by annualized evaluations.
Results of evaluation are discussed with the individual and with follow-up to the referring physician. Rest assured that your patient will receive a quantifiable evaluation that determines cognitive functioning.
